Heavy snow once again smacked Star Valley and Western Wyoming Tuesday
with a line of thundershowers producing very strong winds Tuesday evening.
Below is the preliminary summary of snowfall for the storm along with a
listing of peak wind gusts observed. Of particular note is
the amazing gust on top of Mt. Coffin in the Wyoming range of 159 MPH
last evening. Even in the valley Thayne elementary school reported 54 MPH.
The same line of storms took down power poles in parts of Teton County
causing a major loss of power including Jackson airport
and Teton Village.

7 pm Tuesday evening. Peak wind reports are 24 hour reports from 9
pm Monday until 9 pm Tuesday.
Observations are collected from a variety of sources with
varyingequipment and exposures. Not all data listed are considered
official. SnoTels (Snow Telemetry) are remote sensing sites in high
mountainwatersheds. Snowfall data from SNOTELS are estimated based
on snowwater equivalent.
