Winter Storm Warning Star Valley through Saturday night.


STAR VALLEY-SALT RIVER AND WYOMING RANGES-
INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...AFTON...ALPINE...STAR VALLEY RANCH...

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
5 AM MST SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RIVERTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND WIND WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 5 AM MST SUNDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER
IN EFFECT.

* SUMMARY AND TIMING...THE FIRST SYSTEM WILL BRING SNOW TONIGHT
  AND FRIDAY. AN EVEN STRONGER SYSTEM IS EXPECTED FRIDAY NIGHT AND
  SATURDAY. THERE COULD BE A LULL AT SOME POINT FRIDAY...
  ESPECIALLY FOR THE SOUTH HALF OF THE STAR VALLEY AND
  SALT/WYOMING RANGES.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 12 INCHES IN THE STAR VALLEY WITH 1
  TO 2 FEET IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS.

* WIND AND VISIBILITY...SOUTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45
  MPH IN THE HIGH COUNTRY WITH VISIBILITY UNDER ONE HALF MILE AT
  TIMES.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL WILL BE SEVERELY HAMPERED BY THE SNOW AND
  WIND. ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK WITH PERIODS OF BLOWING AND
  DRIFTING SNOW.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.  SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN
