A Major pattern change will take place over the weekend as a moist, Pacific airmass, replaces the cold, dry air now in place. Snow will begin thursday night and continue periodically over the next several days. Total accumulations of several feet in the mountains and a foot or more in Star Valley are likely by the first of next week. Following is a model forecast of total precipitation for the next 4 days, through Sunday night.
Accumulated precipitation Thursday through Sunday night

One More Morning of Frigid Cold Across Wyoming With Big Snows Ahead
Thursday morning saw temperatures plummet to bitterly cold levels across Wyoming. Star Valley was fortunate that a blanket of clouds limited the drop in temperatures with generally near or just below zero. Following is a list of lows reported from Western Wyoming this morning. The coldest noted in the region was at West Yellowstone MT with -45F.
