...A MAJOR WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT WESTERN WYOMING TODAY
SPREADING ACROSS THE REST OF THE AREA ON FRIDAY...

.A WARM FRONT WILL BRING AMPLE AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE ACROSS WESTERN
WYOMING THIS AFTERNOON. THIS WILL RESULT IN STEADY SNOWFALL
THROUGH FRIDAY...BEFORE AN ARCTIC FRONT MOVES OVER NORTHERN AND
CENTRAL PORTIONS ON FRIDAY. PERIODS OF HEAVY WET SNOW WILL FALL IN
THE MOUNTAINS...ESPECIALLY THE TETONS. STRONG WINDS WILL ALSO LEAD
TO SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH
SEVERELY REDUCED VISIBILITIES AT TIMES. SIGNIFICANT SNOW WILL ALSO
OCCUR OVER THE BIGHORN MOUNTAINS TONIGHT AND FRIDAY. SNOW WILL
BECOME WIDESPREAD EAST OF THE DIVIDE FRIDAY...AS THE ARCTIC FRONT
SURGES SOUTHWARD.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 5 PM MST
FRIDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RIVERTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM NOON TODAY TO 5 PM MST FRIDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO
LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING...PERIODS OF SNOW WILL OCCUR FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH
  FRIDAY. MODERATE SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
  EVENING AND AGAIN THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY. RAIN MAY MIX WITH
  SNOW OR BRIEFLY CHANGE OVER TO RAIN DURING THE DAY THURSDAY. SNOWFALL
  WILL QUICKLY END FRIDAY EVENING BEHIND AN ARCTIC FRONT.

* TOTAL SNOWFALL...6 TO 9 INCHES.

* WIND AND VISIBILITY...THE WIND WILL BE INCREASING OVERNIGHT
  TONIGHT. EXPECT A SOUTHWEST WIND OF 15 TO 20 MPH THROUGH EARLY
  FRIDAY MORNING. THIS WILL RESULT IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING
  SNOW...ALONG WITH LOWERED VISIBILITY DOWN TO ONE QUARTER OF A
  MILE AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...ROADS MAY BECOME SLICK AND SNOW PACKED WITH LIMITED
  VISIBILITY AT TIMES. PEOPLE PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES SHOULD
  BE PREPARED FOR ADVERSE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS AND TAKE THE
  PROPER PRECAUTIONS.
