Slow-Moving Weather System Produces Widespread Heavy Rain
A slow-moving weather system produced impressive rainfall totals across western and central Wyoming between Wednesday night and Saturday night. Wednesday night saw heavy rain fall across the far western valleys and mountains, and from Sweetwater County north into Fremont County. Late Friday and Friday night saw widespread heavy rain, especially across northern Wyoming. The rain continued in these areas through early Saturday afternoon before tapering off by sunset Saturday. In addition to the heavy rain, colder temperatures in the mountains allowed for snow to fall. The heaviest snow fell in the Bighorn Range, where amounts ranged from 4 inches at 7800 feet to 15 inches near 9800 feet
