...SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM IS SET TO IMPACT TRAVELLERS WEDNESDAY
THROUGH THANKSGIVING DAY...

A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM WITH PLENTY OF COLD AIR AND AREAS OF
STRONG WIND WILL IMPACT MUCH OF THE AREA WEDNESDAY THROUGH
THURSDAY. WINTER HIGHLIGHTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN ISSUED FOR SOME
AREAS AND THESE WILL LIKELY EXPAND OVER NEXT DAY OR SO. PERIODS
OF SNOW WILL BEGIN TO MOVE INTO NORTHERN WYOMING AS EARLY AS
TUESDAY NIGHT...MOVING SOUTH ON WEDNESDAY AND PERSISTING ACROSS
THE REGION THROUGH THANKSGIVING DAY. AT THIS TIME...IT LOOKS LIKE
THE HEAVIEST SNOW AND STRONGEST WINDS WILL OCCUR WEDNESDAY NIGHT
AND EARLY THANKSGIVING DAY. SNOW WILL THEN SLOWLY TAPER OFF
THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY.

WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH OVER SOUTH PASS AND ALONG PORTIONS OF
INTERSTATE 80 WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY WILL CONSIDERABLE BLOWING
AND DRIFTING SNOW. EARLY INDICATIONS POINT TO SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF
3 TO 6 INCHES IN MANY AREAS EXCEPT FOR CONSIDERABLY MORE IN PARTS
OF CENTRAL WYOMING WHERE WINTER STORM WATCHES HAVE ALREADY BEEN
ISSUED.

VERY COLD AIR WILL SETTLE IN BEHIND THE SNOW...HIGH TEMPERATURES
MAY ONLY STRUGGLE INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS ON THANKSGIVING DAY WITH
BREEZY NORTHEAST WINDS KEEPING WIND CHILLS WELL BELOW ZERO.

TWO OF THE BUSIEST TRAVEL DAYS OF THE YEAR COULD BE SIGNIFICANTLY
IMPACTED AS WIDESPREAD SNOW...BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW COULD
MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE ALONG INTERSTATES 80 90
AND 25. LOW VISIBILITY AND STRONG WIND COULD ALSO LEAD TO FLIGHT
DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS.

ANOTHER SNOW EVENT IS POSSIBLE NEXT WEEKEND WHEN MANY TRAVELERS
WOULD BE RETURNING HOME. HOWEVER...DETAILS CONCERNING THIS ARE NOT
YET CLEAR SO STAY TUNED.

IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO TRAVEL THIS WEEK...YOU ARE URGED TO WATCH
FOR UPDATES ON THIS DEVELOPING WINTER STORM.
